I Choose To Remain A Child On Earth

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches

that there was life before this earth life,

a pre-existance, it is called.

Like Wadsworth expressed,

we come "trailing clouds of Glory from God who is our home."

This story expresses such a belief as well as

the belief that those who come to this life with special trials,

are especially blessed to return to God and the Celestial Kingdom without sin,

and without damage from this terrestial world.


Kim makes the choice to come to earth with Down's Syndrom and

live his life as a child, sharing his entire life span

knowing the joy of a child on this earth,

rather than growing to a mentally mature adult.

I had such a friend, he was my age;

he is still alive and still happy.

His parents taught him well to be self sufficient

should they predecease him, as they did,

and he had 16 older siblings to help him along.

this age span was unheard of a generation ago in a baby with Down's Syndrom.

This story is written to all the Kims and Garys and Grants of the world.
